The on-going project that the students worked on each day was preparing for the Lego Mindstorm NXT Sumo Robot Competition. Lego Mindstorms is a programmable robotics kit that utilizes the NXT, an intelligent, computer-controlled Lego brick that enables the robot to perform different operations.

The students were divided into teams and challenged to program their robot to compete in a double elimination sumo robot competition. Thus the sessions leading up to the competition were filled with learning programming techniques and testing them out on their robots.
