good for you,not everyone lived long enough, funny how people react to that as a bad thing, but how old WERE you then ? a freak robot like that would scare when i was little lol,my dad once bought one that moved on its own, that i constantly ran away from as they say,and had to sell it ,but i think i was 4-5.
i had that cool remote controled diving sub,but i think it was from the 80s.

LOL! Fifty three …
LOL! Fifty three now, but, to me, I’m not “old”, since people can’t determine my age correctly. As long as people think I’m in my late 30′s, I must have done something right!
I was 6, I think, when I got Robot C.Since I can’t recall the exact year he came out, but know it was ’61 or ’62. I’d probably have been scared of him had I not seen the commercial, when he came out. I loved robots, and had Mr. Machine the Christmas b4, and also one called “Yakety Yob”.

There was a “Man …
There was a “Man From U.N.C.L.E.” episode where agent Illya Kuriakin faces a group of robot commandos trundling towards him, only these bad boys were outfitted with live grenades.

I should also point …
I should also point out that my version of this had a different mouth, microphone ( you had to blow into it to get it to move (not yell or talk like the commercial shows)and, there was a patch across the right chest that read “ROBOT COMMANDO” in white, on a red background. If you go to ebay, you will see what I am talking about.

I had this in 1961. Great toy!
Mine didn’t have the chest patch, and the top of his head that opens was solid red, as were the forearms.
