    LOL memory lane here–I was 8 when this came out, I got the robot and was sooo disappointed. It wasn’t as interactive as they made it seem. I ended up taking it back to the store and my parents got me a less expensive gift.

    My Pal 2 looks cooler than 2XL (what with his moving parts and all), but doesn’t do nearly as much cool stuff (what with 2XL’s giant libraby of tapes).

    HAHAHA, well, she shouldn’t have taken him away from you. Never, ever give a kid something that makes one noise a lot; it’s an instant win. Sorry to hear that he got taken away but at least you got that riccocheting memory.

    Yeah I wanted a 2XL too but MP2 was still awesome. I remember playing with that so much, basketball, simon says, the guard dog function, played with it so much my mom almost took it away from me. That and when I hit her in the head with the orange ball he came with. He had quite a throwing arm let me tell you. I can still remember it ricocheting off her head. I had never seen her get so ed before lol.

    I asked for this when I was 6 or 7, and I got a 2XL instead. I was sorta miffed, in fact, I felt pretty jipped, being 22, until I just saw this commercial. Man, I lucked out, just plays simon says, has a ring toss and a basketball hoop, barks with a glowing nose?

    2XL was more interactive stories and all that. Lots more fun for those who want to have imagination-based activities. Fun for me, but man, My Pal 2 still looks cool.

    I used to have this. It wasn’t too long ago when a competitor came around- 2XL. That one went to bigger and better promotion, including being on a game show with Mark Somers. Too bad that never happened with My Pal 2.
