How to Build a Mini Battle Bot – Part 3

In this video I will show you how to build a mini Battle Bot. This is my spinner robot that I designed and built using a frying pan, a few bolts, some parts from a computer, and an rc system. For a more in depth look at how to hack a Futaba S3003 Servocheck out this vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtLN8BoMIlQ

  1. The bed is actually …
The bed is actually an old air hockey table that does not work. Yeah thinking about it, there is a competition coming up next summer in SF CA. Not sure of the weight class, I’ve modified it a few times since this vid and the weight has nearly doubled.

  2. Could videos, …
Could videos, however, spinning your robot up on your bed = Not smart… 🙂 even at low speeds these things could easily chop off a finger.

You going to enter it into any events? I looks like it might be competitive. What weight class is this???

  3. Transmitters, if …
Transmitters, if you are going to use metal, I recommend 2.4Ghz, like the Spektrum. They have far less problems with interference and better reception even in metal casings.

It depends on how much of the robot you would want. The electronics are not cheap, just the blue motor and speed controller that power the weapon would cost more than $100. The radio system I need for my other Planes and Bots. Tell me how much of it you would want and I’ll give you a price.

  7. I’m not really sure …
I’m not really sure, right now I am in the process of building another robot. If you would like I can post a vid of it throwing around some cans and bottles.

That was in fact at low speed with a half dead battery. I think I had the stick at just under 1/4 throttle. Good luck with your project.

Looks really nice , try fixing some kind of disc to the motor-shaft , providing more than one anchon point for the frying pan.
