what are good ideas for homemade battlebots?

In my scientific challenges class, we are building "battlebots". My team is thinking of what type of remote-controlled vehicles we should use. one of my teammates suggested using a remote-controlled helicopter, but this wouldnt be strong enough to carry any weapons. We dont have any specific weight requirements but we cant use knives, open flame or any explosives (does not include fireworks).

You could build a very sturdy battle bot that simply has a ramp like device, and just flips the other ones up on their sides. I know some people from MIT did this for a robot competition, in which the robots had to collect the most ping pong balls.

Another idea is just get a hammer. mallet, and build a device that just smashes the other robots.
