Circuit/signal disabling question again in Battlebot easy please help!!!!!!!!?

I am creating a Battlebot for a project. I want to simply (with easily available parts) jam the enemies signals, and use a different (novel wavelength such as IR) signal for mine to prevent damaging myself OR somehow deliver a simple electromagnetic pulse or shock that will disable the opponents circuitry. How can I do this with simple, reasonably safe parts. Make it cheap and easy (as cheap and easy as possible)

Nice try…

Battlebots rules would disallow operation of such a device.

Such a device would by its nature fall under custom radio equipment and would therefore come under interference rule 3.4.2

IR control is easily jammed. Lights are not specifically banned as long as they donot interfere with Judges, Operators or other contestants. UV is specifically banned but not IR . Therefore its easy to have your "alternate IR signal" jammed by other light sources. This includes light systems not specifically designed for jamming but which interfere with your IR signal.
