I do too, i want to go to college for engineering, and design weapons, and prosthetic limbs for soldiers and amputees

    “WHO THE NAMES THESE THINGS?!?!?!”

Somebody with a sense of humor.

It’s very nice for the guy to be able to do such things. I’d like to see an arm that receives signals from the brain on what do do rather than foot controls. In the future I’d like to work on helping create such a thing.

  4. Hmm. The effector …
Hmm. The effector hardware looks good. The sensor rigs and software need some work. Of course, this was last year… there may have been some improvements since then.

I’d really like to see a subdermal web of NACHIPs feeding data to the arm, overseen by a trainable network repeatedly matching the signals with the desired output.

  5. This is just the …
    This is just the start.

Did you know there is a real cybernetics/software company called Cyberdyne?
And that there is a prototype A.I. software nicknamed ‘Skynet’.

    WHO THE NAMES THESE THINGS?!?!?!

What are the odds our first commercial space-cruiseliner will be called the Titanic II?

  6. There is more limb …
There is more limb liss in OIF and OEF because of the advancement in body armor. There isnt much to protect the limbs, thus that is the loss. These prosthetics are also going to help out more then just veterans. Persons who have lost limbs to cancer, such as myself, and those from farm accidents will greatly benefit from this.
The only downside to this is funding, right now the new Sec of VA is already planning cutbacks. Dont hold your breathe on this prosthesis. Its gonna be close.

… am i the only one who senses that the banana that Chuck is talking about is the kind that DOESN’T grow on trees?

amen. Please stop making prosthetics shortly before you do the brain. or we all die!!!

Consider where we’d be if these guys had the same budget as the Military.

What do you mean people shouldnt be losing their limbs in wars o_O? In case you havent noticed what a bullet can actually do to the human body as opposed to those movies that tone it down for content, losing a limb is VERY possible. A lot of the people who will need this are old veterans who didnt have the protection we have today anyway.

Sure its a great vid, but sometimes its hard to fully understand what some people are saying

No need to down rate, it’s a little sketchy on the audio quality but great vid.
