    im not sure what method they used but dan brown created a method which could be programmed into it because it uses algorithms. I dont actually know how to do it but that could just be basically what they used

    it scans with an light sensor the color to know which position the cube is (it’s the “eye” of the robot), then it “thinks” the fastest method and then it do it.
