LED Arduino Clock

http://www.atcindus.com/forum/index.php

What is ClockOS?
Essentially, it’s a clock. Ultimately, it’s a ‘whole lot more’ ! A beautiful modern design that will look stunning in any environment (at home and at work). This art inspired timepiece is ready to enjoy from the moment it is unpacked. The ClockOS comes pre-programmed with many “visually stimulating” clock styles. Three push-buttons on the back of the clock allow you to set the time and select LED colors that fit your taste and your decor. Select a location (where all your friends will see it) , set the time, and you’re ready to enjoy the beauty of this ultra modern time piece.

We are offering the ClockOS without a case for our wood working, metalworking and art people. There are a lot of talented people out there that we know can come up with some beautiful enclosures for the ClockOS. For everyone else that has no desire to build their own case we offer the ClockOS in a finised wooden case or a machined aluminum case with or without a machined aluminum desktop base. We’ve also included an option to have the aluminum frame bead blasted just like your Mac. The bead blasted finish of the clock along with the black face plate will match your Macbook or iMac perfectly.

Yes all of the LEDs …
Yes all of the LEDs are RGB, there is an access panel on the back of the clock with a? programing port to plug a USB cable in for easy reprogramming. Thanks for your comments!

    Unique, innovative, …
Unique, innovative, beautiful. And the fact that you CHOSE to make OS I find exceptional. If America wants to continue to compete in the world market this is the type of thing we need to do. Do I NEED a $300 dollar clock… no! Do I want THIS $300 clock… Frak yes! Oh… Some of the posters here might want to? check out the prices of some “quality” made clocks that use nothing more than quarts movements. $300?!? Try SEVERAL hundred to THOUSANDS of dollars!

    Are all the LEDs …
    Are all the LEDs RGB?
    Is it easily re-programmable?
If? so this would be great for Arduino hobbyists

    “to build just one …
“to build just one of our billet aluminum prototypes…” Keyword being prototypes. After we successfully raised double our goal on kickstarter we were able to have them produced for much less than? the $300. Thanks for your savvy business insight.

so it costs like $ …
so it costs like $300 just for the aluminium yet you want to see? the product for under that? Get someone with business experience or just some common sence… i would scrap this business idea.

    Why not use thinner …
Why not use thinner formed aluminium instead of machined aluminium. The look would be the same and cost would be lower? The billet is much more sturdy and looks? awesome, but expensive.

if you are not able …
if you are not able to differentiate a design object from a everyday clock like your 5$ walmart clock made in chin… oh sorry, america? (for sure), you should just shut up. everyone can light some led’s, even a dumba** like you. that’s not the point.

why are u all so …
why are u all so mean to these guys? they made somthing nice, and sell it for their price. its selfmade, rare and looks cool.? if they want to sell it for 200/clock, why not? u dont have to buy it.. and u cant compare it to a normal clock.

    Oh, it does more …
Oh, it does more than show time? Please elaborate, I’d love to know more. As for thinking $200 is a lot of money, for a CLOCK, yes. As for my $5? Walmart example, I splurged and went with a $40 Casio.. If you check my channel, you’ll notice I work with a computerized Christmas display, so turning LEDs on and off isn’t exactly rocket science, nor is putting them in a circle revolutionary. Peace out.

    Well that’s your …
Well that’s your opinion. Though I think that I would be more embarrassed to publicly post that you think $200? is a lot of money and that you wear a $5.00 Walmart watch. Before you post silly comments maybe you should watch the video and you would realize that this “Clock” does a lot more than your Mickey Mouse watch.

    Agreed, $200 for …
Agreed, $200 for something that doesn’t do any more than? a $5 watch from Walmart? Really? The more I think about it, I’d be embarrassed to even put together a video like this stating something so ridiculous!

As of now we have …
As of now we have no plans of going with a chinese manufacturer or a plastic body. The Clock is manufactured right here in the United States and milled out of a solid block of Aluminum. We are proud of this product and feel that anyone who loves a beautifully designed timepiece will be okay spending only $200 in a clock. Thanks? for all the interest from everyone and keep on posting comments I love to hear what everyone has to say.

I predict that they will soon find a Chinese manufacturer to make? these and they will sell for $99.99. Of course, the cases will be aluminum- or wood-colored plastic.

Beautiful work! I would like to purchase the DIY version someday.

You don’t see the back of the clock, so I? was just wondering if you could save money by using an inner and outer aluminum ring rather than solid aluminum.

I will share this video with others.
