I think the key to robotik warfare is network based surveilance. Think of a swarm of cheap networked flying drones, swarming the battlefield. They track down enemy positons in realtime and relay this information to weapon platforms which fly at high altitudes, like the new unmanned blimps the US is planning to field in stan in the next year. Those things can fly for weeks at 10 km high, completely unmanned? with a payload of 1,5 tons. Very scary scenario. -
