FANUC Robotics Authorized Integrator Hartness International is a global leader in the case packing industry, providing proven innovation backed by a powerful commitment to service and excellence.

This video showcases an innovative case packing system provided by Hartness utilizing robotic automation with FANUC robots. This system uses the FANUC M-710iC Robot and the smaller LR Mate 200iC Robot. Both of these robot models are highly used in the packaging industry, and can be applied to nearly every manufacturing application.

First, a dry-cycle test of the system is shown. The FANUC LR Mate 200iC robot picks a partition sheet in it gripper, and passes the sheet onto the FANUC M-710iC, which receives the part with its end-of-arm tooling. With the partition sheet in its end-of-arm tooling, the M-710iC then picks up two rows of product while simultaneously placing the partition between the two rows. The product is being indexed to the pick position of the robot using a flight bar conveyor driven by a FANUC auxiliary axis. The robot packs the layer of the product tightly in its case.

After handing another partition sheet to the M-710iC, the LR Mate 200iC then picks and places a tier sheet into the case. This tier sheet will go between the two layers of product. Once the case pack is full, the product is indexed out of the system on the conveyor.
